At Patient-First Dental Care, we love working with patients of all ages. This includes children. And since children are the future, we believe in giving them the healthiest start possible. This involves not only providing excellent routine care, but providing a range of preventive treatments.
The best way to solve a problem is to prevent it from happening in the first place. To that end, we recommend that you bring your child in every 6 months for a checkup and cleaning. This helps prevent problems like cavities from developing too far or at all. We can monitor how a child’s teeth are coming in and recommend any interventions that may be necessary.
We also provide preventive treatments, like dental sealants and fluoride application. Sealants are used to protect teeth from cavities by covering vulnerable areas of teeth with a durable layer of resin. They can be used on children as soon as their permanent teeth come in, and provide years of protection. Fluoride, a naturally-occurring mineral, helps strengthen tooth enamel. Strong enamel makes teeth less prone to decay such as cavities. Concentrated application in our office is a great complement to home fluoride toothpaste use.
As parents, we all want the best for our kids. Preventive dental care should be something every child has. Healthy teeth in early years lay the foundation for a lifetime of good oral health.
